I’m a bit late or right on time…you decide!  It is May 1st and I’ve measured and weighed in!  So here are the results!  Before I show you though, I want to talk about how excited I am to go to Grand Rapids!! Well, really Grandville, Michigan.  I grew up in the little town next to it…Jenison.  I graduated back in 1987 (boy does that make me sound a bit old!!  lol) and..I have a class reunion to go to this year!!  I want to call out my classmates and let them know….”You Still Have Time To Get In Shape Before the Reunion!!!!!!”  There…Thanks.  I needed to do that for them!  hee hee…

There is something about taking great care of yourself!  Remember, I’ve been both heavy and in shape!  I feel sooooo much better when I’m in great shape!  I have more confidence, more energy, I’m able to keep up with my kids! The works!  It’s funny how we are always drawn to someone who takes care of themselves.  I think maybe we think it will rub off!  I’m praying that it does.  If I could take anyone who isn’t in good shape and help them in any way that I could…I would!  To let them experience how it feels to fit into jeans or to bend over and tie your shoes without the struggle or to not be tired all the time!  And jealousy….forget about it!  No need.  I’m doing all that I can (that is within my power) to give my life it’s best that I can.  When I do that, I have no regrets about it.  I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s worth it!  Go for your health!  Fight for it!  You deserve to look into the mirror and feel good at the person staring back at you!!  Just to remind you that I come from the ‘have-nots” too and remember how I felt back then…I will give you a picture of me then along with my photo shoot pics.  They look like two different people!! Results from Cleveland…Yes Pictures Too!!

4th place Red Fox

Here’s the skinny…I took 4th place at the 2012 NPC Natural Ohio! I gave what I had and was proud to be standing up there. I enjoyed going out on stage and wasn’t nervous once I got into Ohio. Jim and I arrived a day early and so we had time to relax and work on posing some more. It REALLY helped!! I weighed in at 141# which I’m sure was stress and water loss! 🙂

I had a hard time after Dearborn. I felt I wasn’t ready to go to Cleveland. My cutting hasn’t been as low as I would’ve liked it. My leg muscles still aren’t showing much. My Body fat % is NOT as low as I need it…all of this I knew after dearborn and I had to get right back up on that stage and do it again. I wasn’t ready. I struggled so much throughout the week mentally trying to prepare for the Natural. I had one week and I gave it may all.

1. I ran every morning with a Sweat Suit…you know, the “garbage bag” thing that makes you drip!!
2. I lowered my carbs and my water intake.
3. I worked out hard regardless of how I felt…focusing on my legs.
4. Nothing else got in the way of my training no matter what. I kept my time schedule!
5. Throwing up didn’t stop me!
6. Getting sick in other ways didn’t stop me!
7. I did two cardio sessions a day along with my lifting work out!

The deal for me was, I made a commitment and I had to give it my best! Now, I approach my fitness with giving it my all, but it was turned up a couple of notches knowing that I had to get right back up on stage. I dropped 11 pounds in one week. I don’t recommend it! The stress made me sick so the food I did eat…wasn’t sticking with me.  So I had to push through no matter what.  In the end, I am better for going and I am proud of how I represented Red Fox.  I gave it my best and learned that I can still improve!  This whole thing called “My Life” is a journey and I’m not over with just yet!!

I’m Just Getting Started!!!  🙂  

Make today better than yesterday…I’m going for it!!  My Next goal is 6 weeks away…I’ll re-evaluate in 3 weeks and see the quality that I’m bringing.  Stay tuned!!  It ain’t over yet!!

We are so excited and anxious to leave for Cleveland!  What a great show this is going to be!! We are going to meet LOTS of people and mingle like crazy!!  We even have a few Facebook friends coming to join us and cheer me on!!  I’m so honored!  Here’s how the day went today ( I meant to post yesterday’s too but ran out of time!).  I’ve included lots of pictures for you to take a look at from my gym time too!  I think it’s always easier to do exercises when I can see them in action!  Cleveland is a little close to Dearborn and my advice is to NEVER do it this way!!  hahaha…live and learn!  Blessings!

9:00 am:

  • Up!!
  • Lotioned up (I have this tan on from last weekend and it looks like crackle paint!!  hahaha…it’s itchy, and soooo dry! I need to get it off before Cleveland! )
  • Weigh in:  145.3 (woop woop!)


  • 3 mile run! With my “Sweat Suit”


  • Ate: Chicken, asparagus, peppers, salsa, egg whites

11 – 11:30

  • Worked on Night routine for Cleveland.  They want a 60 sec routine vs Dearborn’s 90 (arrrhg! lol)  We did it!


  • Dishes & Kitchen duty


  • 3oz OJ w/ Vit C
  • CLA’s
  • Slimmetry


  • Got online and said “Hay” to my online buds!


  • Shower & get ready for the gym – Today is Back day!


  • 3 chkn breast strips with hot sauce
  • Protein/Vitamin shake w/ BCAA’s


  • Gym Time (see pics!)
  • Cked in with kids and Grandma (having a GREAT time at this really cool place called The Great Wolf Lodge)

All that was left was Dinner and packing and posting!

  • Cajun Chicken Breast and Veggie Medley (YUM!!!)  I’m afraid I don’t think I chewed!!! sigh…

Here’s the results from the 1st Competition…Dearborn!!

Ok…I won but here’s the deal.  Physique is a brand new category and I guess girls are very scared to go for it.  Dearborn was a smaller competition and was the one that I wanted to go to that I could get my feet wet!  I wanted to see how things went.  Get out the jitters.  I wanted to talk to some judges and I wanted to meet and stand next to some other Physique Girls and see how we are doing!  I also wanted to get a good chance to qualify for Nationals.

It was fun!

It was a learning experience!

I was challenged!

I messed up!

And…I have work to do!

I qualified for Nationals!

I was able to stand next to some other women in the Physique Category and they were kind, fun, excited, and it felt more like a team experience than a competition.

I received quality input from some National judges who were overall excited about my potential and stage presence.

I achieved all goals that we went into Dearborn with!

Then…we celebrated!  This is not about just me!  I have a whole family behind me who love and support me!  They are just as much a part of this as I am!  My husband is my partner, motivator, chef, confident, coach, hugger, pusher, and organizer.  He’s there for what ever I need!  I love him for it!  I also have two of my six kids that still live with us who have to sacrifice so much to keep the “team” going!  They cheer me on when I’m “stuck”, they help with my routine, they video all kinds of stuff for me and even go running and biking with me to help me get out the door!  I love them as well and appreciate all they do to help!

I have no professional pictures as of yet, but I DO have some crude iPhone pictures and video.  It doesn’t show really what I want, but you’ll get the idea.  Some day (hopefully soon) I’ll get some nice equipment for all of this!  Until then…we’ll all just have to make the best of it!
